It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Daniel Joseph George Liggs, on Thursday March 25, 2021, at the age of 37.
Born in Ottawa, he spent a lot of time as a child at a flea market where he developed an appreciation for vintage toys and comics (and the art of making deals). In recent years, his passion project, Spider-Sense Comics, gave him the opportunity to help other fans curate and complete their collections.
Daniel moved to Toronto in his early twenties and pursued a career in sales and business development. His strategic thinking, strong work ethic and innate ability to build rapport, paved the way for his success. He derived a lot of pride from his work. The roles he held at Versapay and more recently as Director of Sales, Canada for a booming software company based in Texas allowed him to play to his strengths helping people and companies grow. He was recently awarded both High Flyers and President’s Club awards for outstanding performance.
You always knew when Daniel was in the room, the only thing larger than his presence, was his heart. He was an old soul who loved traveling, unique experiences and good food; and he was a connoisseur of hamburgers. Daniel’s magnetic personality drew anyone around him into his orbit. His generosity, candor and confidence left an impression on many.
Daniel will be lovingly remembered by his wife Amanda Huynh-Liggs, his mother and father-in law, Joanne and Richard, his brother in law Eric, Amanda's grandparents, and uncle John, Daniel's mother Michelle Dallaire, his sister Nathalie Dallaire, and those whose lives he touched.
Gone too soon.
Daniel welcomed me from my first day. He and I had plans to dominate the Canadian market with HighRadius software - he had the role of selling it - and I was going to deliver the consulting. He brought joy and humour to every interaction.
I remember chatting throughout sales training about the company and our mission of growing the Canadian prescence.
He had an impact. He left footprints on my heart. Wishing you comfort and healing as you remember the gifts he shared with you.
I met Liggs during our time working together at Versapay, and learned quickly that he thrived off helping people succeed. From coaching his team, booking meetings with tough accounts, or helping somebody chase down a comic or collectible they were after...he got a great deal of satisfaction out of playing a role in seeing people accomplish a goal. I learned a lot from him in our time together...the importance of being confident in who you are, the power of just "going for it" regardless of circumstances, and how to be performance-driven while still looking after your team.
Going to miss you Liggs.
I had the pleasure of working with "Liggsy" for over 3 years at Versapay. His passion and enthusiasm was infectious. His was motivated by the thrill of the pursuit and the satisfaction of booking a call or closing a deal. You will be missed my friend.
Dan was a tremendous influence on my career. He was an excellent man-manager and knew how to get the most out of his team. I learned a ton from Dan and shared a lot of positive experiences. I know that his influence will continue to live on through the careers of the members of the team. Rest in peace Dan, you are missed.
Dan, I will forever miss you. I love you
I grew up with Dan and must say he had a huge heart. We went through a lot of tough times together. He was always so easy to talk to and willing to listen. He lived with us a while. So many good memories and deep chats. He was like a brother and I’m sad to say we lost touch. I saw him not too long ago and it was like a day never went by. Hugs and happiness. He idolized his big brother keith. Loved his bro Nathan. I hope you two find comfort in that. He Loved his friends whith everything he had. He’d give his shirt off his back. I’m shocked and feel the need to know how this could happen. My love to you Dan. I’ll always remember our heart felt talks. Giant hugs.
The first time I recall talking to Dan was at the Versapay holiday party a few years ago, shortly after I joined the company. He was so friendly and really went out of his way to make sure I felt welcome. Great guy from the start! He had such a passion to connect with people and always left a lasting impression. Dan, you will be missed.
Dan believed in me and took a chance on me at the age of 19, to join his team in my very first sales role. He forever changed my life, my attitude, and his impact will have a rippling effect that will be felt for generations to come. Thank you Dan - you will be missed buddy, but you will never be forgotten. Rest in peace.
I hit it off from the get-go with Daniel. We met at various industry events over the years, and when he joined HighRadius, we bonded over case studies and client stories. We chatted every week for weeks - I was truly looking forward to when we would go to an industry event together as colleagues. I will miss him greatly and we have him and all his family in our prayers.
If I made a checklist of the qualities a great friend should have, Dan would check all the boxes on it and then some.
Dan invested himself in our friendship. His commitment to staying in touch despite the long distance and infrequency of our visits made my trips to Toronto seem like only days apart.
I’m going to miss those trips, and I’m going to miss Dan.
Until next time my friend.

Daniel,
Thank you for all of the great memories! Your energy, smile and way you could connect with people was so special and I’m lucky I got to witness you in your element at VersaPay. Appreciate the friendship, the chats and always being there for a listening ear. You were the best office mate bringing in all the snacks, making sure we were stacked for McDonald’s breakfast and always up for a good laugh. I’m going to miss you and hard to believe you’re gone. Keep shining your energy on us. ❤️ Condolences to your wife and your family during this difficult time. You’re gone too soon but made an impact on so many in the short time you were here. Rest easy my friend 🙏
To my son
His journey just begun
Don't think of him as gone away his journeys just begun life holds to many facts. This earth is only one just think as resting from sorrow and tears in a place of warmth and comfort. Where there are no days and years. Think how he must be wishing that we could how nothing out of sadness can really pass away. And think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched for nothing is loved is lost and he was love so much.
Just a poem for my son
I will love always
Your Dad
Daniel had a big heart and was exceptionally good at what he did. It was such a pleasure to work with him which set the foundation for a really good friendship. He was one of the few I talked to my kids about because if his love for comics. You will be very missed Daniel.
I had the privilege of meeting Daniel about a year ago when he was assigned my account with Highradius. Daniel had the ability to connect on a human level and truly seemed to care for people. There were no problems to great to overcome and he did so with such positive energy. I know he was proud of his new home and would on occasion send me some pictures of his latest projects around the house. I would like to offer my deepest condolences to his family. Rest in peace Daniel, you will be missed.
Daniel was an amazing human being and a fireball of energy. He had the unique ability to make everyone feel better about themselves by just being around them. He will be missed.
I am signing this with an incredibly heavy heart. It was truly a pleasure of knowing Daniel. He taught me everything I know in my career and it was entirely due to his charisma and attitude. He was an incredibly humble human being with an infectious smile that lit up the whole workplace. Rest in peace Daniel. You will be dearly missed.
Dan and I quickly became friends when I joined VersaPay a few years ago. He always had interesting stories, great advice and a genuine passion for people. Seeing him in action at trade shows was a marvel. Dan, can’t believe you’re gone. You had many more bright years ahead of you my friend. Deepest condolences to your family during this difficult time. Rest In Peace.
Never in my life did I ever think I would be here today to put my baby brother to rest. So many memories of Daniel pace through my mind, we had some great times. One of my fondest memories is when Daniel was 3 and he wanted "my pet monster more than anything! So indeed for Daniels birthday he got his my pet monster. As much as he thought he wanted it so bad it actually turned out that every night when I would tuck him in and put it in bed with him it seemed to always end up in his toy box the next morning burried under all his other toys and I never knew why until he was an adult and he told me he was terrified of it. So of course it was our little joke that I would send him pictures of my pet monster there after. Daniel I will miss your infectious smile. but we know you will be watching over your beautiful wife and your family.i promise you I will always will be in Amanda's life and be the best sister in law. You know, I am the BEST sister! "Daniel i heard that chuckle "

Daniel and I were tagged partners in our tenure at HighRadius. It is completely impossible to pen down all the amazing moments, hour long hustles, success, learnings, random debates, comic discussions, house tours, the laughters in any number of lines. I am signing this with a very heavy heart.
Daniel taught me how to stay positive and patient in toughest of the times. He has been a natural in making people feel comfortable around him. He loved celebrating things old school and the perfect way.
He will remain one of the most amazing and energetic people I have ever met. Without any doubt Daniel is the most happy and amazing part of my life at HighRadius.
